Based on the analysis of the environmental conditions of the need for young entrepreneurs who are able to think creatively and act innovatively, the Dean of the Faculty of Business, the Rector of Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya and the Widya Mandala Foundation agreed that Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya must prepare new entrepreneurs who are resilient and independent. This idea began to be implemented by setting up an entrepreneurship program at the Faculty of Business in 2014, namely with entrepreneurship courses, Entrepreneurship Laboratory and incorporating entrepreneurship in co and extra-curricular activities.
The establishment and preparation of entrepreneurship involves the entire academic community, especially in the Faculty of Business, which plays an active role in the development of the Entrepreneurship Program. In early 2016, the establishment of the Entrepreneurship Study Program began to be finalized, by appointing a team to prepare the establishment of the Entrepreneurship Study Program of the Faculty of Business (Rector's Task Letter of Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya number 005/A/WM01/T/2016 dated January 4, 2016).
The work of the faculty and the team paid off with the issuance of the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia number 433/KPT/I/2016 dated October 3, 2016 granting permission to open an Entrepreneurship Study Program for Undergraduate Programs at Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya. The seriousness of the Foundation in the intention to produce new entrepreneurs who are resilient and independent is shown in establishing the Faculty of Entrepreneurship with the Entrepreneurship Study Program as stated in the Decree of the Widya Mandala Surabaya Foundation Management Board number 177/YWMS/SK/XII/2016 dated December 21, 2016.
Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya should be proud because this Entrepreneurship Study Program is the second Entrepreneurship Study Program in Indonesia after the Bandung Institute of Technology and is the first private university in Indonesia to have an Entrepreneurship Study Program.
Courses in the Entrepreneurship Study Program are designed to complete 146 credits. The insert semester is a compulsory semester so that students can complete their studies faster. This is based on the ideals of forming a consistent and hardworking entrepreneur mentality. The lectures will use a lot of applicative methods and work practices, so there will be many practitioners invited to provide mentoring to students. During the lecture, students can choose 5 business fields that are developed, namely:
- Health sector, this sector will collaborate with the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Psychology and Faculty of Pharmacy.
- Education, in collaboration with the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education
- Food and Beverage sector that will collaborate with the Faculty of Agricultural Technology
- Information and Communication Technology, in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Communication Sciences
- Fashion field that will be supported and cooperated with the alumni.
The purpose of choosing a field of business and development during the study period is so that graduates of the Faculty of Entrepreneurship not only become graduates, but also actually have their own businesses and can create jobs. Thus, graduates of the Faculty of Entrepreneurship not only become graduates, but also actually have their own businesses and can create jobs.

To become an Entrepreneurship Study Program that produces graduates with independent entrepreneurial spirit, ethical behavior, managerial and technical skills to solve business and social problems on a global scale in 2035 based on Pancasila values and Catholic principles.
