Accounting and Taxation (ATTAX) Program

In 1983, Adjunct Accountant ceased to operate and then in the 1985/1986 academic year opened a new Department, namely the Department of Accounting for the Bachelor of Accounting (S-1) Program, through the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 071/O/1985 concerning the Adjustment of Pathways, Levels and Educational Programs and the Rearrangement of the Name of the Department/Study Program Unit of Recognized Status in Private Universities in the Environment

On September 1, 2010, the Faculty of Economics was transformed into the Faculty of Business. The change of the Faculty of Economics to the Faculty of Business is contained in the Decree of the Board of Trustees of the Widya Mandala Foundation Surabaya No. 091/YWMS/SK/VIII/2010. The change of the Faculty of Economics to the Faculty of Business is to meet the expectations stakeholder of growing business school worldwide

Accreditation A (Very Goodobtained the Management Study Program with the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) No. 019/BAN-PT/Ak-VII/S1/VIII/2003, dated August 20, 2003. Accreditation A (Baik sekali) kembali diperoleh berdasarkan surat Keputusan BAN PT No.003/BAN-PT/AK-SURV-I/S1/V/2009. Di tahun 2013 kembali Jurusan Manajemen dapat mempertahankan Akreditasi A dengan Surat Keputusan No. 227/BAN-PT/Ak-XVI/S/XI/2013, tanggal 09 November 2013. Pada Tahun 2018, tertanggal 2 Oktober 2018 dapat mempertahankan Akreditas A dengan nilai 369 melalui Surat Keputusan BAN-PT No.2728/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/X/2018 yang berlaku sampai dengan 2 Oktober 2023. Pada tahun 2021, Program Studi Manajemen memperoleh Akreditasi UNGGUL berdasarkan keputusan BAN-PT No. 9398/SK/BAN-PT/AK-ISK/S/VII/2021.

Accreditation A (Very Good) was obtained by the S1 Accounting Study Program with the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education No. 045/BAN-PT/AK-VIII/S1/X/2004, dated October 26, 2004. Where again maintaining Accreditation A (Very Good) based on BAN-PT Decree No. 006/BAN-PT/Ak-XIII/S1/VI/2010 and maintaining it again in 2015 based on BAN-PT Decree No. 990/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/IX/2015. In 2020, Accreditation A (which is equivalent to Excellent) of the S1 Accounting Study Program has been extended and this accreditation is valid until September 12, 2025. In 2021, the S1 Accounting Study Program obtained SUPERIOR Accreditation based on the BAN-PT decision No. 9835/SK/BAN-PT/AK-ISK/S/VII/2021.

In 2010, at the age of 45 on September 1, the Faculty of Economics of Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya was transformed into the Faculty of Business to answer the challenges of stakeholder needsStake Holdernowadays. In 2011, the Department of Management developed a program International Business Management (IBM) with Specialization Supply Chain Management yang mulai pertama kali menerima mahasiswa pada tahun kuliah 2012/2013.

Pada tahun 2019, program International Business Accounting (IBAcc) mulai menerima mahasiswa untuk mempersiapkan mahasiswa akuntansi untuk bersaing secara global di era Revolusi Industri 4.0 dan mengasah wawasan internasional maupun kompetensi akuntansi untuk bisa bersaing, baik dengan akuntan dalam negeri maupun luar negeri. Program IBAcc ini merupakan program mandiri di bawah koordinasi Program Studi Akuntansi S1. Pada tahun 2019 juga, untuk menjawab kebutuhan dunia bisnis dan Revolusi Industri 4.0 yang membutuhkan lulusan dengan kemampuan penguasaan teknologi, program Digital Business Management (DBM) secara resmi menerima mahasiswa untuk pertama kalinya. Baik Program IBM maupun DBM merupakan program yang mandiri di Program Studi Manajemen. Pendirian kedua program baru ini berdasarkan Surat Keputusan Dewan Pengurus Yayasan Widya Mandala Surabaya No. 149/YWMS/SK/VII/2018 pada tanggal 26 Juli 2018. Pada tahun 2023 program studi manajemen mulai menerima mahasiswa untuk program Service and Event Management, hal ini untuk menjawab kebutuhan professional handal di bidang pemasar jasa dan event organizer yang sangat dibutuhkan di kota Surabaya sebagai kota terbesa kedua di Indonesia, yang memiliki banyak Hotel, Mall, Restaurant, Perkantoran dan beberapa venue besar untuk mengadakan event. Pada tahun 2023 di program studi Akuntansi mulai menerima mahasiswa untuk program Digital Accounting (DAcc) dan Program Accounting and Taxation (ATAX), this is to answer the needs of the digital industry for a reliable accountant who understands digital technology and the need for dynamic tax developments so that a reliable accountant is needed for taxation.

In the 2019/2020 academic year, Widya Mandala Catholic University of Madiun officially joined Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya so that now Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya has the Surabaya City Campus and the Madiun City Campus. Based on the Decree of the Board of Trustees of the Widya Mandala Foundation Surabaya No. 064/YWMS/SK/III/2020, dated March 19, 2020, regarding the Clustering of Study Programs at the Madiun City Campus into the Study Program Management Unit (Faculty) within the Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya, the S1 Management Study Program and the S1 Accounting Study Program in the city of Madiun are also managed by the Faculty of Business, UKWMS Surabaya City Campus. The curriculum that runs on the study program located at the Madiun City Campus, hereinafter referred to as the Study Program outside the Main Campus (PSDKU), is the same as the curriculum set at the Surabaya City Campus.

In the academic year 2023/2024, the Graduate School and the Faculty of Vocational Studies officially merged into the Faculty of Business, so with this merger, the Faculty of Business officially has 9 study programs ranging from diploma 3: Accounting and Office Administration; S1 level: Accounting, PSDKU Accounting, Management and PSDKU Management; S2 level: Master of Accounting and Master of Management, and S3 level, namely Doctor of Management Science.

To become a leading Accounting Study Program in the global environment in 2035 in producing professional actors in the field of ethical accounting with managerial and technical capabilities in solving business and social problems.

Producing accounting graduates who are able to compete in a global environment based on Catholic and PeKA values through quality tri dharma of higher education activities and supported by good governance and governance, and application of digital technology and MSMEs, as well as synergy with stakeholders in a sustainable manner.

Profile Independent Profesional (PPM)

After 3-5 years of working as an auditor, corporate accountant and consultant in the accounting field, graduates of the S1 Accounting Study Program at Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya are capable:

  1. work independently and in groups to gather evidence, evaluate, and communicate audit results to stakeholders.
  2. provide and analyze information technology-based financial and non-financial information to support comprehensive business decision-making processes.
  3. contribute to solving business and social problems by applying knowledge and skills in accounting.
  4. demonstrate an ethical attitude by prioritizing the PeKA (Care, Commit, Enthusiasm) attitude, based on the values of Pancasila and Catholic Principles and the spirit of lifelong learning.

 

Expected Learning Outcome

  1. Able to prepare financial statements based on applicable financial accounting standards and analyze and interpret financial statements to support decision making.
  2. Able to explain the audit process as well as collect, evaluate audit evidence and complete audit working papers, in accordance with audit standards and applicable laws and regulations.
  3. Able to compile investment feasibility and funding in accordance with the principles of financial management and investment for decision making.
  4. Able to compile financial and non-financial information based on cost management concepts to support managerial decision making.
  5. Able to design business processes in an information system that supports the provision of technology-based information, management control, and organizational decision making using the system development life cycle approach.
  6. Able to prepare tax obligation reports for both individual and corporate taxpayers in accordance with tax laws and business laws applicable in Indonesia.
  7. Mastering general concepts of economics, management and organization, including governance, risk management, strategic management, and business environment.
  8. Having an attitude of devotion to God Almighty, showing an attitude as a citizen based on the values of Pancasila, PeKA, and ethics.
  9. Able to compile scientific studies and express ideas clearly, both orally and in writing, to stakeholders and show an attitude of responsibility for work independently and in groups.
